Gwersyllt School Transitions

Gwersyllt C.P School on Dodd’s Lane is the school we have strong connections with.  We attend many events through invitation from the Nursery Teacher and Head Teacher to watch Christmas concerts, sports days and open events where children can become familiar with the school environment.

Transitions are a good and healthy part of school and playgroup life.  These planned sessions allow the children to become familiar with the noises, routines and experiences of the next steps on their learning ladder.

The New Curriculum for Wales

The New Curriculum for Wales came into play from September 2022 and replaced The Foundation Phase Curriculum in Wales. 

 

The New Curriculum for Wales is now aimed at a broader age range of children 0-16 years of age with the lower age range of children being the main focus for all planned activities through Person Centered Planning and Planning in the moment. 

 

The New Curriculum for Wales focuses mainly on child led activities using natural play equipment such as items found around the home or out on walks such as loose parts – sticks, leaves, acorns etc.
