Our Staff

The team are extremely dedicated and strive to provide the very best for the children, ensuring they are happy, content and progressing in their development.   They do this by holding regular staff meetings and holding planning meeting every week.  They also take part in training to ensure they keep up to date with information, new initiatives and legislation changes.  ​Our staff members keep up to date on training in food safety, first aid, safeguarding, safe moving & handling and health & safety awareness.

 

Over the past year they have attended training in:  eating well for pre-school children, promoting positive behaviour, foundation phase planning, providing a good quality together time, planning for ICT and problem solving.

All staff members have regular DBS checks.

Hello my name is Alex, I have been working at Bradley Playgroup Since the beginning of September 2017. I have 7+ years of experience working in various childcare settings, and hold the following qualifications:

 

  • BA(Hons) Education & Childhood Studies.

  • Edexcel Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Children’s Learning and Development (Advanced Practice).

  • Edexcel Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Health & Social Care.

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Play work (NVQ).

Wendy Thomas
Supervisor

Hello my name is Wendy, I have been a Supervisor since June 2007 and I am qualified in:

  • NVQ level 3 Children's Care, Learning and Development

 

Karen Whitby

Hello my name is Karen, I have previously worked at the Playgroup for a number of years and I am a member of the playgroup committee. I have returned to play an active role in the group once again by covering Alex and Wendy at lunch time. I am qualified in:

  • NVQ level 2 Children's Care, Learning and Development
